Short-term therapy for children and young people

Short-term psychotherapy for children and young people is designed to help them cope with difficulties in their lives, often associated with acute problems or crisis situations.

Support for children in short-term psychotherapy

  • Short-term psychotherapy for children is a type of psychotherapy that usually lasts 6 to 12 weeks. It is designed to help children and young people cope with difficulties in their lives, often associated with acute problems or crisis situations.
  • Short-term psychotherapy for children can be effective in treating a wide range of issues, such as:
    • Emotional problems: Depression, anxiety, anger, loss of a loved one, low self-esteem.
    • Social problems: Bullying, communication difficulties, adaptation problems, socialization in the school environment.
    • Behavioral problems: Aggressiveness, hyperactivity, withdrawal, sibling rivalry.

Our goal is to help your children:

  • Identify their own strengths, gifts, and coping resources.
  • With transitions, worries, anger, sadness, fear, or behavioral issues.
  • Manage stress and other emotions.
  • Find positive solutions to the problems they are currently experiencing.

  • After the first meeting, we will prepare a therapeutic plan for your child with proposed therapy goals and possible additional recommendations.
  • As part of our treatment for your child, we always include one workshop “What is Important in Parenting” for parents. Here, along with our specialist, you will go over the basics of parenting and reflect on how you can help your child with your approach and relationship with them.
